Here we go!! The start of the Poultry Palace! We have a great weekend to get a good start on our new coop.

Chickens
We have a number of chickens on the farm. I have not gotten to know them very well yet, but I hope to learn more about them as I volunteer each week. Chickens are much more intelligent than most people expect. These girls are inquisitive and well mannered. So far, they've been a bit shy with me, but with time, I hope we will become great friends. I'm not sure if they have names, so if anyone out there has suggestions, I'm all ears. I'll post them individually as I can and try to offer the distinctions among their looks and personalities. Just give me a little time.
Annie and Arnold
Here are two happy pigs! Annie (dressed in black) is posing for the picture while Arnold sleeps contentedly.
Arnold
Arnold is a wonderful pig. He is quite content roaming the yard. His hobbies include eating and sleeping and he is very good at both! He and Annie have their issues now and again, but they basically get along pretty well.
Rambo and Rocky
Rambo (in the barn) and Rocky are our two handsome sheep. They were recently shorn, so they are looking a little strange as they grow in their new coats. Rocky is our newcomer, but he is starting to feel comfortable here. Both are a little shy around me, but they are coming around. Naturally, if I have a little food in hand, I can get their attention more easily. I just love sheep and look forward to watching their wooly coats grow in during the course of the year.
